Team Registration

The Soda City Pinball League (SCPL) is a co-ed adult team league intended to gather people together for some drinks, pinball, and a little friendly competition. Outside of the cost of the weekly game play, it is free to join. If players are interested in receiving a league t-shirt at the end of the season, it will cost $20. At the end of the season party, there will be a tournament and a chance to win pinball swag and gift cards. Here’s how it works:

Each team consists of 5 to 12 players, and matches are hosted at “League approved” locations around the Columbia area.
Teams gather for matches once a week held at either their “home” bar or an “away” bar. Each team plays half of their matches at “home” and half “on the road.”
The season consists of 8 weeks of regular season play, plus semi-finals and a final championship match.
Teams accumulate points based on their performance during match play, and at the end of the season, the top 4 teams will battle it out to determine the league champion. For a complete description of game play and rules, please consult our League Rules Page.

How can I join the Soda City Pinball League?

Each team will require 1-2 captains. Responsibilities of a CAPTAIN include:

Organizing their team & registering their team roster with the league
Corresponding with the league about match results
Serve as team representatives at each of the matches
Register and play as a STARTER on the TEAM ROSTER
Building a TEAM ROSTER (5-12 players): Includes at least 4 STARTERS – players that plan on missing only a couple matches during the season (starters include captains) STARTERS are required to play at least one round if they are present at a match.
Includes at least 1 RESERVE – players that plan on missing 2+ matches during the season

RESERVES can play in a STARTER position, if a team member is absent but are not required to play if they are present at a match when 4 STARTERS are present on their team
*this is a great option if someone would like to play, but doesn’t want to commit to all 8 weeks

At each match, team captains are required to have a minimum of 4 players per team, to play without penalty.

Week 4: Mon 9/30 or Tue 10/1

Week 5: Mon 10/7 or Tue 10/8

Week 6: Mon 10/14 or Tue 10/15

Week 7: Mon 10/21 or Tue 10/22

Week 8: Mon 10/28 or Tue 10/29

Semi-Finals: Mon 11/4 or Tue 11/5 (Location – TBD)

Finals: Mon 11/11 or Tue 11/12 (Location – TBD)

End of Season Party: Sat 11/16 (Craft and Draft Irmo)
